CUT
The cut of a diamond is a testament to craftsmanship.
Terms like Brightness, Scintillation, and Fire describe how skillfully a diamond is cut, reflecting its ability to interact beautifully with light.
A diamond’s cut refers to more than just its interaction with light—it encompasses the overall design, including the arrangement and proportions of its facets. While terms like oval describe the shape or outline of a diamond, the cut also defines its proportions and symmetry, which contribute to its brilliance and allure.
Cut grades are assigned exclusively to round brilliant-cut diamonds, as they are the only shape with standardized facet arrangements. All other shapes, including marquise, emerald, pear, oval, heart, and even triangular diamonds, are classified as fancy shapes.
Proportions play a critical role in a diamond’s face-up appearance, allure, and overall attractiveness. When evaluating the cut quality of a round brilliant diamond, many factors come into play—one of which is personal preference. Each cut grade represents a range of proportion sets, allowing ample room for individual taste within a preferred grade.
The nearly infinite combinations of proportions influence how a diamond interacts with light, ultimately shaping its beauty and brilliance.

GOOD & FAIR CUTS
While most jewelers accept diamond cuts rated as "Excellent," "Very Good," "Good," "Fair," or even "Poor," Trust Diamond takes an uncompromising approach, cutting our diamonds to meet only the most exceptional standards. Unlike Non-Trust Diamond, whose stones are sometimes cut too deep or too shallow—causing light to escape through the sides and bottom—Trust Diamond ensures that every stone is crafted to optimize brilliance. Misaligned facets, which can disrupt the movement of light, are simply not acceptable in our process.
